Frequently Asked Questions

About Soarvo

What is Soarvo?

Soarvo is a geospatial data management platform for uploading, visualising, and collaborating on location-based data — drone surveys, point clouds, 3D models, orthomosaics, GIS data, and more. See What is Soarvo?

What can I do in the web portal?

Organise data into Projects and Locations, upload geospatial datasets, view them in an interactive 2D/3D map, create features (points, lines, polygons), measure distances and volumes, and share projects with your team. See Opening a Location & Data Viewer Overview.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes — Soarvo has a mobile app for iOS and Android for field data capture. Mobile access requires a Mobile-User or Mobile-Only role assigned by your Administrator. Mobile workflows are documented in the Field Workers section, including device integrations (nordalp X6 PRO RTK, RD8000+) and field workflows (BS3998 tree inspections, alignment & chainage, position averaging).

Logging In & Accounts

How do I log in?

Go to live.soarvo.com and enter the email and password you set from your invitation email. See Logging In for the First Time.

I didn't get my invitation email — what now?

Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, ask your Administrator to confirm the email address they used and to resend the invitation from the User Management panel. See Troubleshooting: Login & Access Issues.

I forgot my password — how do I reset it?

On the login page click Forgot password, enter your email, and follow the link in the reset email. Check your junk folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes.

What browsers does Soarvo support?

Any modern desktop browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari are all supported. Internet Explorer is not supported. Chrome and Edge are recommended for 3D data such as point clouds and meshes.

Users, Roles & Sharing

Who can invite new users?

Administrators, Project Managers, and Project Supervisors can invite users (only Administrators can create other Administrators). See Inviting Users to Soarvo.

What roles are there and what can each do?

Seven roles: Administrator, Project Manager, Project Supervisor, Editor, Viewer, Mobile-User, and Mobile-Only. Each role has a different set of permissions across user management, project creation, data upload, sharing, feature editing, and mobile access. See User Roles & Permissions for the full matrix.

Can I change a user's role after inviting them?

Yes — Administrators can update a user's role at any time from the Users page. Changes take effect immediately. See Managing and Removing Users.

What's the difference between sharing a project and sharing a location?

Sharing a project gives a user access to that project and all its locations. Sharing a location gives access to only that specific location. See Sharing Projects & Locations.

I'm logged in but I can't see any projects — why?

New accounts have an empty home screen until an Administrator or Project Manager explicitly shares a project or location with you. Contact your Administrator to be added. See Troubleshooting: Login & Access Issues.

Data & Uploads

What file formats can I upload?

SHP, GDB, CSV, KML, DWG, DXF, GeoTIFF, JPG, 360° Panoramas, LAS/LAZ (point cloud), IFC (BIM), and OBJ/B3DM (3D mesh), plus raw drone imagery for processing. Availability of advanced formats depends on your subscription. See Supported File Formats.

What coordinate system should my data use?

Your data must be in the same coordinate system as the project. When creating a project you pick an EPSG code — every upload to that project must match it. Mismatched data will plot in the wrong place on the map. See Creating a Project.

Why is my data showing in the wrong location?

Nine times out of ten it's a coordinate-system mismatch between your upload and the project. Re-export the file from your GIS or CAD software with the correct CRS, then re-upload.

The upload succeeded but I can't see the data — what should I check?

  1. Refresh the Data Viewer page.
  2. Wait a few minutes — large files (point clouds, 3D meshes) need processing time after upload.
  3. In the Layers panel, confirm the eye icon next to the layer is on.
  4. Click Reset View — the layer may have loaded outside your current map view.
  5. Recheck the coordinate system — the file may have uploaded successfully but in the wrong CRS.

Subscription & Limits

How do I check my storage and user quotas?

Click the avatar (top-right) and select Resource limits. You'll see your subscription end date plus current usage and limits for storage, locations, users per role, and processing tokens.

What are processing tokens?

Processing tokens are consumed when you upload raw drone imagery for automatic processing into orthomosaics, 3D meshes, or point clouds. Each subscription includes a token allocation visible on the Resource limits page.

Where can I get more support?

Browse the rest of the Knowledge Base, check Troubleshooting, or contact Soarvo via soarvo.com/contact.

What is the Project Dashboard?

The Project Dashboard is a configurable board of widgets that summarises activity, inventory, and outstanding to-dos across a project. Click Display Project Dashboard on any project's locations page to open it. See Using the Project Dashboard for details.
