Soarvo Mobile App Overview
Overview
The Soarvo Mobile App (Android and iOS) is the field-capture companion to the Soarvo web portal. Surveyors, drone operators, and inspectors use it to capture geo-referenced features, take measurements, photograph assets, and sync their work back to the portal.
ℹ️
Who uses this: Field-based team members assigned the
Mobile-User or
Mobile-Only role. Administrators, Project Managers, Project Supervisors, and Editors can also use the mobile app.
What the Mobile App Does
- Capture features — point, line, and area features tied to your project's coordinate system
- Record GPS position — using the device's GPS or an external RTK rover (e.g. nordalp X6 PRO)
- Take photos and sketches — auto-watermarked with position and metadata
- Fill in attribute forms — domain-specific data entry (utility inspections, tree surveys, etc.)
- Work offline — features captured offline sync to the portal when reconnected
- Integrate with external devices — RD8K cable locators, RTK rovers, Trimble Catalyst
Where Mobile Data Goes
Every feature you capture in the mobile app is associated with a Location in a Project — the same hierarchy as the portal. When a Project Manager creates a project and shares a location with you, you'll see it in the app's location list.
See How Soarvo Structures Data for the full hierarchy.
Getting Started in the Field
- Install Soarvo from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).
- Sign in with the same email and password you use for the portal.
- Open a location from the list. The map centres on your area.
- Tap + Add new feature (green floating button) to start capturing.
- Pick a feature type, place the geometry (tap map or use your GPS), fill the form, and save.
