Using the Layers Panel

Overview

The Layers Panel lists every dataset loaded into a location. Use it to control what's visible on the map, adjust display settings, and manage layer order.

Each layer has visibility, styling, and ordering controls.

Layer Groups

Uploaded data is automatically grouped by type:

Group
Content
Features
CSV, SHP, and digitised feature data (points, lines, polygons)
3D Tiles
Point clouds and 3D meshes
Geo Referenced Images
DWG files and orthomosaics
Maps
Custom WMS/ZXY layers (uploaded via .mapjson or .wms files)

Geo-referenced images automatically generate a Site Boundary (green outline) showing data extents. Toggle it off like any other layer.

Showing and Hiding Layers

Click the eye icon (👁) next to any layer to toggle its visibility. Click the menu on a layer for additional options (move, delete, opacity, etc.).

Expand Active Styling to change colours, point sizes, or classification visibility.

Saving a View

Once you have configured which layers are visible, save the view to preserve these settings as the default when the location is next opened.

Adjusting Opacity

Open the Panel Button to access opacity settings:

  • Orthomosaic opacity — a slider for each loaded orthomosaic
  • Depth toggle — shows data below the Cesium terrain layer (useful when height values don't match terrain)
  • Google Tileset opacity — controls Google 3D Buildings visibility
  • Cesium terrain opacity — controls the base terrain layer
  • Background visibility — toggle off Cesium entirely to display data on a black background

3D Buildings

Toggle 3D Buildings on or off from the 3D Buildings button inside the Layers panel. Note: 3D Buildings are not available for every location.
