What You Can Change
Field
Notes
Project name
Renames the project. Existing locations, datasets, and shares are preserved.
Project categories
Updates the icon and category label on the project card. Choose from General, Drone, Survey, Mobile Mapping, or GIS.
Coordinate system
The EPSG used for the project. Changing this
does not re-project your existing data — see warning below.
Measurement system
Metric, Imperial, or Imperial US. Affects how distances, areas, and volumes are displayed in the Data Viewer.
Saving Changes
Click Save at the bottom of the panel. Changes take effect immediately. To discard your changes, click Cancel or the ✕ in the top-right of the panel.
Warnings
⚠️
Changing the coordinate system does not re-project data that's already uploaded. Existing layers will continue to display in their original CRS — but new uploads will need to match the new CRS. Avoid changing CRS unless you understand the impact, or delete and re-upload affected datasets afterwards.
⚠️
Renaming a project does not break any shares, but bookmarks or external links that use the old name in the URL slug may break (the underlying ID stays the same, so direct links still work).
Other Options on the Project ⋮ Menu
- Share — give other users access (see Sharing Projects & Locations)
- Delete — permanently remove the project and all its data (cannot be undone)
- Display Project Dashboard — open the project's dashboard view
- Export Project Settings — see Exporting Data
