Project settings

Rename a project and set its coordinate and measurement systems.

Overview

Project Settings let you rename a project, change its category, or switch coordinate and measurement systems. Only Administrators and the project's Project Manager can edit these settings.

Opening Project Settings
  1. On the home screen, click on the project card and select Settings. The Project Settings panel slides out from the right.

What You Can Change
Field
Notes
Project name
Renames the project; locations, datasets, and shares are preserved.
Project categories
Updates the icon and label. Options: General, Drone, Survey, Mobile Mapping, GIS.
Coordinate system
The project EPSG. Changing this does not re-project existing data — see warning below.
Measurement system
Metric, Imperial, or Imperial US. Affects distances, areas, and volumes in the Data Viewer.

Saving Changes

Click Save. Changes take effect immediately. Click Cancel or to discard.

Warnings
⚠️ Changing the coordinate system does not re-project existing uploads. New uploads must match the new CRS; delete and re-upload affected datasets if needed.
⚠️ Renaming a project preserves shares, but URL-slug bookmarks or external links may break (ID-based direct links still work).

Other Options on the Project ⋮ Menu
  • Share — give other users access (see Sharing Projects & Locations)
  • Delete — permanently remove the project and all its data (cannot be undone)
  • Display Project Dashboard — open the project's dashboard view
  • Export Project Settings — see Exporting Data
