What's new in each Soarvo Portal release.

Overview

Release notes for the Soarvo Portal (the web platform at app.soarvo.com). New releases are listed at the top.

ℹ️ Release cadence: The portal is updated on a rolling schedule, separate from the Soarvo Mobile app. Routine updates ship during a low-impact maintenance window; critical updates are expedited as needed. For Mobile release notes, see Release Notes — Soarvo Mobile.
Portal v1.80 — 9 March 2026

New user roles

  • Project Supervisor — must be assigned to specific projects and locations. Can upload, manage, and delete data within their assigned scope.
  • Mobile-Only — captures data in the Soarvo Mobile app but has no access to the web portal.

New Background Map Manager

  • Background Maps in the Layers panel now offers a richer selector with more default options.
  • Multiple map layers can be displayed simultaneously via Additional Layers, each with adjustable transparency.
  • WMS layers can be added by uploading a configuration file. See WMS Libraries for ready-made bundles.

Advanced feature labelling

  • Labels can now combine values from multiple attributes. Use {FieldName} placeholders.
  • Single-line label example: {Material} {Diameter}
  • Multi-line label example: {Material}\n{Diameter}

National Highways grid projection support

Custom National Highways co-ordinate projections (EPSG codes 112000 – 112101) are now selectable when setting up a project.

Reference Location support

Mark a location as Reference (Project Wide Availability tick in Location Settings) to share its data across multiple locations without re-uploading. See Reference Locations.

New import formats

Soarvo Portal now supports .DXF and .KML for import. See Supported File Formats.

  • This page — published release notes for every shipped version.
  • In-portal banner — major releases may include a sign-in banner highlighting key changes.
  • Customer Success — your account contact will reach out about releases that affect your workflow or require action.

Mobile 0.0.250 — Production

New features

  • Feature editing cancellation confirmation to help prevent accidentally losing changes.

  • !POSTSAVECREATECHILD default code for automatically creating child features after saving a parent feature.

  • Optional fencing feature generation for tree-based secondary features.

  • Text attributes using !LABEL now render as info boxes in the feature form.

  • New default codes for querying loaded project-wide locations:

  • Feature cards in the overview now show the first two attributes.

  • Feature-card attribute text no longer wraps, improving readability in dense lists.

Child features and attachments

  • !POSTSAVECREATECHILD now supports copying FileUpload and MultiFileUpload attributes to generated child features.

  • Improved child-feature automation for workflows that need photos, files, or multiple file attachments copied from the parent.

Data, logs and storage

  • Added automatic log cleanup. Logs are reduced to 40,000 entries when the log size exceeds 70,000.

  • Added a settings option to vacuum the local database and reduce its storage size.

  • Photo uploads are now limited so individual photos do not exceed 10 MB.

Attribute and expression improvements

  • Numerical attributes now better preserve whole-number integer values instead of always defaulting to doubles.

  • Improved handling for project-wide location query default codes.

Reliability and maintenance

  • Minor improvements to user-session handling in areas with poor network connectivity.

Mobile 0.0.216 — Production

New features

  • Irish coordinate support: Belfast and Malin OSGM15 variants.
  • Access-group filtering for feature types — control visibility by user group.
  • Child feature type support; all 9 geometry combinations now work with _COPY_PARENT_GEOM.
  • North Alignment Compass on the map (activates at 10°).
  • User position tracking on a ~5-minute schedule.
  • Insert a node into the middle of a line or area segment when editing.
  • Custom photo watermark configuration.
  • _styleOverride to set individual feature colours (e.g. colour=#FF00FF).

Attribute & expression enhancements

  • !STARTENDBRG — bearing between a line's first and last node.
  • addTimeSpan and datetime functions in !CALC; hour support added.
  • !AUTOINC now supports prefixed values (NH-1 → NH-2).
  • !CALC can nest default codes (e.g. !CALC isResolved == true ? '!TS' : '').
  • Opacity support for feature-type styling; faster nested-code evaluation via caching.

Feature management

  • Selected-feature sheet uses attribute descriptions and hides values starting with !.
  • "My Data Only" filters now respect the _assignedTo attribute.
  • Selecting a feature from the list auto-zooms the map to it.
  • Creating an inspection greys the parent feature via its _styleOverride.

Mapping & geometry

  • iOS altitude uses height above ellipsoid when device location is the source.
  • Snapped-geometry recalculation uses ~10cm tolerance and respects search-box filters; snapped features must be visible. Read-only features are excluded.
  • Expanded recalculation status messaging.

Platform, photos & fixes

  • Targets updated to Android 16 and iOS 26; dependencies refreshed.
  • Customisable photo-watermark content.
  • Fixed duplicate feature-type names when adding child features; Play Store media-permissions fix; general maintenance.
Mobile 0.0.180 — Production

New features

  • Support for nordalp X6 PRO as a position source. See nordalp X6 PRO RTK Integration.
  • Move nodes on linear and area features; split linear features.
  • Previous login email cached and auto-restored.
  • Auto-generated inspection metadata on parents: _inspectedBy, _inspectedDate, _inspectedStatus.
  • _COPY_PARENT_GEOM for child inspection feature types (point geometry).
  • !INSPECTEDDISTANCE default code for child inspections.
  • Simplified icon support; "My Data Only" filter on Features Overview; device position logging.

Data & calculation updates

  • !LEN now 2D; new !LEN3D for 3D length.
  • Floating-point precision workaround for !CALC.

Fixes

  • Deleted projects no longer linger on the device.
  • Antenna-height fix for Trimble Precision SDK sources.
  • iPadOS 26.1+ workaround for auto-dismissing menus and modals.
Mobile 0.0.162 — Production

New features

  • _AUTO_ACCEPT and _ON_SAVE_ACTIONS metadata settings.
  • Project-wide locations load alongside the open location.
  • MobileLocationZoom tag centres the map on the location anchor.

Improvements

  • Faster map annotations; #32CE32 defaults to transparent polygon fill.
Mobile 0.0.157 — Production

  • Grid Lines secondary feature (Grid Generation).
  • Parallel Lines secondary feature (Parallel Lines).
  • Tree Inspection (BS3998) secondary feature with RPR calculation (Tree Inspections).

  • Location search with status filters; "Mark as Finished" on location cards.

Mapping & capture improvements

  • ESRI World Imagery as a default layer (OS layers removed as defaults).
  • Line/area capture starts directly on the map; improved auto-add nodes with Start/Stop (Auto Add Linear/Area Nodes).
  • Transparent polygons via #FFFF01; selected features highlighted in cyan to match the portal.
  • Mandatory attributes shown via a red→green status bar; clearer save errors.

Photo & watermark updates

  • Watermarks use Easting/Northing for BNG, TM65, TM75, ITM; X/Y for other projected systems; Lat/Long for EPSG:4326.
  • Bearing removed when the device doesn't provide it.

Fixes

  • TPSDK (Trimble Catalyst) updated; general maintenance.
How to Keep Soarvo Mobile Up to Date
  • Android — enable auto-update in Google Play, or check manually.
  • iOS — enable auto-update in the App Store, or pull-to-refresh under Updates.
  • Beta / TestFlight — pre-release builds preview upcoming features. Contact your Customer Success contact for access.
⚠️ Compatibility: some integrations need minimum versions — nordalp X6 PRO (0.0.166+, Android), photo-watermark customisation (0.0.206+), Tree Inspections (0.0.130+). Each Field Workers article lists its required version.
