Measuring Tools & Volume Calculations
Overview
The Soarvo Map Window includes built-in tools for linear, area, and volumetric measurements — usable by all roles with location access.
Using Measuring Tools
Click the Measure Tools button in the Map Window toolbar to expand the tools. Hover over each icon for a tooltip describing its function. Click a tool to activate it, then click points on the map to measure.

Volume Calculation
To calculate the volume of a stockpile or earthwork:
- In the Features Panel, create or select a polygon feature type.
- Draw a polygon around the area you want to measure.
- Switch to Select Mode in the Features Panel and click the polygon.
- Click the ⋮ (three dots) on the selected feature and choose Calculate Volume.
- A progress bar appears at the bottom of the screen while the calculation runs.
- The volume calculation report is displayed when complete.
- The map shows the sample points used. Refresh the page to clear them.
⚠️
Note: Volume calculations require point cloud data to be loaded in the location for accurate results.
