Point Clouds & 3D Models
Overview
Soarvo provides settings to customise how point clouds and 3D models are displayed, and a move tool to adjust their position if the data doesn't align with the map.
Point Cloud Display Settings
Open the Panel Button (next to the Home button) to access Point Cloud Settings.
Colour Mode
Mode
Description
RGB
True colour from the scan
Intensity
Return intensity values
Classification
Colour by classification class. Data must be pre-classified before upload. Enables the Classification Panel to toggle class visibility.
Elevation
Colour by height — choose absolute or relative height bands and set a range
Other Settings
- Performance Accelerator — lower values = denser display. Use a higher value for large datasets to maintain browser performance.
- Point Size — adjust cube size for a more complete-looking cloud.

Adjusting Position (Move Tool)
If a point cloud or 3D model doesn't align correctly with the map:
- In the Layers Panel, select the layer and click the ⋮ (three dots).
- Select Move.
- The layer highlights in green. Use the arrow controls for small adjustments, or enable Click Move for larger position changes.

Clipping Plane
The clipping plane lets you cut horizontally through a model to expose internal structure:
- Open the Panel Button and select Clipping Plane.
- Use the up/down arrows or type a height value to move the clipping plane through the model.
